Named for the brightly colored Turaco bird native to Burundi, this single origin coffee is a standout in every way. Sourced from smallholder farmers in the Ngozi and Kayanza regions, these Red Bourbon coffee beans are fully washed and grown at high altitudes, yielding a crisp, complex, and sweetly aromatic cup.

With a consistent 84+ SCA score, our light roast coffee is a showcase of balance and brightness—offering notes of citrus, floral, and delicate sweetness. Our vertically integrated supply chain ensures quality from cherry to cup, while also contributing to local initiatives through the Farmgate Livestock Project.

The Farmgate Livestock Project is a community-driven initiative that provides livestock to coffee farming families in Burundi. With each purchase of Turaco, you're helping to improve household nutrition and income stability. As part of a “solidarity chain,” families who receive livestock pass offspring on to other families—creating a ripple effect of sustainable support and shared prosperity.

As a trusted coffee roaster, we’ve selected Turaco not only for its exceptional flavor, but for the care and community impact behind every bag. From hand-sorting to UV-inspected dry milling, it’s clear why this is one of the best coffees from Burundi.

Ideal for: Pour over, drip coffee, cold brew and those who love a light, clean and lively cup with a sustainable support story.
